MIDDLE TN CHAPTER ACF - Chapter Meeting October 15, 2007 At 6:10 p.m. Our General Meeting was called to order by our Sergeant at Arms Willie Jeniison. Our meeting this evening is hosted by Caesars Ristorante on White Bridge Road. With our host Caesar and Vito Randazzo. . President Gary Rawson advised that this will be an eating meeting. We will be sampling different foods throughout the meeting. After we go through the business portion of the meeting we will have a pumpkin dessert contest that we will be voting on. Invocation was given by Chef Leroy Parker We all stood for the Pledge of Allegtance Treasurers Report for September was given by Chef Anna Hicks. They were approved as read. Minutes from May 2007 were read by Cathy Hoormann - they were approved as read. Please note that both the Minuets and Treasurer Reports are on file with Chapter Secretary. Any member in good standing may request to review these documents at anytime. Announcements: Nancy Campbell is looking for volunteers to donate 50 box lunches for the up and coming seminars for theMedical Mission trip. This will be held on Oct 25-26-27, 2007 Please contact Nancy if you are able to assists in the lunches. To date she would like to thank Purity Dairy for snacks, milk, and juice, Kickin' Coffee & Tea for coffee; Monell's for 3 days of Breakfast; and Fresh Point Overton for fruit. This mission collects medicines, eyeglasses to distribute to those in need. In addition it is a training for medical professionals and responders in all forms of health care. Chef Rawson opened the floor for Awards Nominations that will be given at our 3rd Annual Awards Banquet February 17, 2007 at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel-Nashville. He is proud to announce 2 new awards this year that are near and dear to our hearts. *First, the Student Culinarian of the year. There is an entry form that must be filled out and returned to Board by November 15th . These applicants will be reviewed and voted on by your board. *The Second new award is Culinary Educator of the year The list is as follows: Gary encouraged all to participate in the nominating and voting process. He also wishes to advise that he will respectfully decline any nominations he receives. The nominations for Professionalism are: The nominations for Bill James Award are: The nominations for Purveyor of The Year All hosts of 2007 meetings will be eligible for the Hospitality award We were given an overview of several products from Roma Foods, Stanislaus, Grande Chess Company, and invited to sample and talk with their representatives. Our host Chef Caesar was introduced and wanted to thank all of us for coming to visit them and attending this meeting. With that he said he would love to sing for us but needed to get back to cooking for us. Our General Meeting for November is the 19th will be hosted by Chef Camp Howard at the Vanderbilt Commons. At this time we are not sure what Chef Camp Howard has in store for us, so please check on info on our web sight www.nashvillechefs.org. Also on November 19th we will have a team representing us at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs at Opryland Hotel. This team will be anchored by Chef Robert Siegel. Rick Kahre then opened up the mwhng for the Pumpkin Dessert Competition. There are nine desserts to try. Please put your vote in the basket for your favorite. Once you complete your voting please enjoy the buffet prepared by Vito and his staff. After considerable tasting and partaking of Ceasar's feast. The winner of the contest was announced. Chef Kim Ingram took not only bragging rights, but a $250 prize for her "Pumpkin Bread Pudding topped with Egg Nog Ice Cream.”
