The New Southern Comfortable Cuisine Dinner – our Chapter event organizers along with Tennessee Pork Producers, Harvest Select Catfish Farms, Pick Tennessee Products (the State Gov. agency to promote Tennessee Businesses) and Chef Laurie Potts of the Wildhorse are combining talents in order to create the perfect New Southern Dinner. This dinner is NOT a barbeque “ho-down”; rather it will be a contemporary presentation of our regional cuisine.

The Show - Our songwriters are 3 prominent writers for 1½ hours. Our first Songwriter is the very popular Victoria Shaw. Vic has written #1 hits for Garth Brooks, Michael Montgomery, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Faith Hill, Reba, Olivia Newton-John, and a host of others. Vic has agreed to anchor the Songwriters round and has arranged for our other two performers, the very popular Bob DiPiero, hit writer for Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Reba, Vince Gill and the Oak Ridge Boys and the highly esteemed, Jim Photoglo (Alabama, James Ingram, Kenny Rogers, Faith Hill, Dirt Band, and Run C&W).
The songwriters round is a format that is popular around Nashville nightclubs where 3 writers are arranged on stage with their instrument, (piano, guitar). Each one in their turn, tells a story about their song, the inspirations, the circumstances and then performs the piece with the other two writers as accompanists. It is delightful, and surprising how these people who you did not know before tonight, have affected your life with their music. It may be you and your sweetie’s favorite song, or the beer commercial you have heard for years.

Cocktails - The Wildhorse Saloon is a full service restaurant and bar, as such, has a fully stocked bar. Aside from our special drink tickets, the bars will be open for cash business.

Silent Auction - As a Chapter, many of our members have access to wonderful gifts and unique items. We are working on items for a Silent Auction held in the back room of the Wildhorse. Our first item, (already in our possession) is a NFL Game Football signed by many players and coaches of the Tennessee Titans Football Team (starting bid $300.00). Numerous restaurants and purveyors will be contributing dinners and items to this effort, and it will be possible to get some truly unique gifts from this auction.

As a charitable Event - The MTC-ACF’s commitment in this event is two-fold. Part of the profits from this evening will be distributed to the Chapter for its own operations and charitable endeavors, and part of the profits will be given to the Nashville Metropolitan Schools in order to further efforts in Childhood Nutritional Education, and the eradication of childhood hunger in our schools and community. Chef Michael Adams C.E.C. – Culinary Educator at Hunters Lane High School, and Education Chair of the MTC-ACF, heads up a committee to distribute these earmarked funds. It is our commitment that these funds stay in our community to help the Middle Tennessee area.

The Wildhorse Saloon - A Gaylord Property, is a premier venue for the Nashville music scene. It came about in 1994 when Gaylord Entertainment the owners of Opryland, the Grand Old Opry, WSM, Opryland Hotel, TNN and a host of other properties jumped on the concept and created the Wildhorse in downtown Nashville’s historic 2nd Ave district. The Wildhorse was created as a working Restaurant, Saloon, Country Music Venue and full Television studio.
