June 20th Chapter Meeting: Centerstone

At Centerstone the meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Gary Rawson the Chapter president .
This meeting started immediately with a prayer and the pledge of allegience. This was followed by the Treasurers report from Anna Hicks, and the reading of the Minutes from April 18th meeting by Cathy Hoormans.
Elaine Parker informed us of final details for June 23rd for the Tennessee School for the Blind Picnic- Elaine went over food assignments and asked for any volunteers to show up at the event.
Gary Rawson covered the details of the upcoming Golf Tournament
Nancy Campbell gave us a report on her Crossroads Project of June 13th - 17th. It was very sucessful.
Announcements were made about the passing of Chef Ernie Louis and the establishment of the Ernie Louis Scholorship Foundation - an educational scholorship of $300.00 given to a student that fits the criterion.
Announcement was made that the Titans Prep Shifts had been cancelled due to lack of participation.
Announcement of the !st Annual Ice Cream Competition - Cathy Hoormann has been appointed as chair for the event and Purity Dairy is the main event sponsor.
The membership was invited to sample the buffet that was prepared by Chef Willie Jemison, Centerstone Staff and US Foodservice. It was terrific, featuring Black Angus Rib Eye Steaks, large thick cut Pork Chops and an assortment of sides. Purity Dairy provided a ton of Purity Ice Cream and gave away half gallons to those who wanted them. The meeting had about 30 attendees until the food was served, then it grew to 60 or 70.
The Guest speaker and food sponsor for the evening was Mr Kim Arseneaux, Executive Account Manager of the Certified Angus Beef Council. Mr Arseneaux spoke at length of the nature and specs. of the beef industry and of Certified Angus.
